Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 Shaandaar Shukravaar: Dharmendra Joins The Sholay Reunion; Amitabh Bachchan Shares Anecdotes From The Shoot Of The Film
The upcoming Friday episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 can be aptly called a mini-reunion of the team of the cult classic, Sholay. The episode will be graced by director Ramesh Sippy and Dream Girl Hema Malini, and Dharmendra will connected with them via a video call. Several promos of the Shaandaar Shukravaar episode have gone viral on the internet, and the newest one is making us even more impatient for it.

In the new promo, Amitabh Bachchan asks Ramesh Sippy the reason why he selected him for the role of Jai in Sholay. To this, Sippy says he was convinced Big B can play any role. Ramesh Sippy says, “Anand mein aapne bohot badhiya kaam kiya. Bombay To Goa mein aapne light role kiya (You did amazing work in Anand. In Bombay to Goa, you did a lighter role). So, this seems to be an actor who could do anything.” Big B, with a childlike enthusiasm, replies, “Mere baare mein aapko aisa laga (You felt this way about me)?” followed by the director nodding in affirmation.

Mr Bachchan also shares interesting stories. He says, “The scene where I am playing a mouth organ and Jaya [Bachchan] is lighting the lamp, it took three years to take that one shot.” Dharmendra, who played Veeru in the movie, recalled how he once walked 28 miles to a certain location. Amitabh Bachchan then hints at revealing an incident that might miff Dharmendra. He says, “Bohot maarenge jo hum bataane vaale hain."

Sony TV captioned the promo as, “Shuru hua Sholay film ki yaadon se juda silsila #KBC13 ke manch par! Inn rochak palon ko dekhna mat bhooliyega #KaunBanegaCrorepati ke #ShaandaarShukravaar episode mein, iss shukravaar, 15th Oct, raat 9 baje, sirf Sony par.”

Sholay was released 46 years ago on August 15, 2021, and is considered one of the best films to have even been made in Indian cinema.
